Hello, I roasted a chicken tonight using this recipe that I use from time to time. I was unhappy with the appearance as the entire bottom half of the breast didn't brown. I've had better results with browning in the past with same oven and temp.
The browner chicken in pic above I did air chill uncovered in the fridge for 24 hours, and this one I only air chilled for 2-3 hours after seasoning, but I figured I should be able to still get decent results.
Both times I coated with olive oil and butter prior to cooking, and cooked at 450 instead of 425 (I think my oven runs cold and I've had poor browning results at 425.) This time I may have slathered it with a bit more oil and butter, so not sure if that was a factor. It was evenly applied.
The browner chicken I puchased at Ralph's, and this one was from Trader Joes. The TJ's chicken was sealed pretty tight and almost compressed to the point where Iwas surprised it weighed four pounds.
Still tasted great but I'd really like to nail the aesthetics in the future. Just trying to troubleshoot after weighing all these different factors.

Risk management Always assume that the trade will go against you, regardless of your DD. Never doing the “all in” approach will help protect your capital. Risk management doesn’t mean you have to use S/L. Stop loses usually are not ideal in momentum stocks trading because market makers can bring the price down to execute your order and the price may jump right after. Adding up to your position, whether long or short, always help manage the risk—meter in your position; what do I mean by this? For example, don’t go in hard and buy 10K shares! When I say meter in your position that means buy a couple of shares here and there to gain a better avg and at the same time have risk management incase shit goes south or north really quick.
A few indicators I use: MACD, Bollinger Bands, VWAP, 13/200 EMA, Pivot tables, and Volume Zone Oscillator 1. Volume: extremely important to pay attention to volume vs the stock price. You all have seen me mention this many times in chat. Match this up with times of the day as well. 2. HoD breakout: important during momentum stocks breakouts, I also use this when the stock fails to break the HoD multiple times- short position is warranted/puts if it has them—I won’t be playing options 3. Previous day’s close: I always look at this when shorting a penny stock. Think about it this way, PM & AH is one thing but if a stock close at certain price in the previous day’s trading session, it’s likely that the price won’t be too far off at the close today irrespective of what happens in PM & AH. Pivot tables help me look at the bigger picture. 4. Time of the day: Extremely important. Most day traders trade based off of this indicator. You always want the confirmation of what happened in PM during the first 15mins of market open; very important time. Usually, stocks trading heavier vol tend to be extremely volatile in that 15mins. Once we know the trend (up or down), we can take long or short position accordingly. 7am, 8am, 9:45am, 11am, 3pm, 4pm are some of the important times-- you have to pay attention to the pattern. Most of the plays I will take will be Pre-Market, looking for the big spike and collapse. I tend to be done with a play by lunch time, but if it is continuing in a downtrend, I will continue to hold. 5. VWAP: I don’t pay as much attention to this, but sometimes its important to see where the stock is trending if you are stuck in a position for a long time during the day. You have heard me say above VWAP bullish, below is bearish. Watch out for traps here and watch for crosses to trigger S/L and profit taking 6. Float: I do look at this when taking a short position. Higher float penny stocks tend to go nowhere after the heavy PM run. Lower floats tend to move faster—however it has a bigger risk so you MUST be ready to exit the position. 7. News: I don’t really pay attention to the news much but, I am not entering a trade prematurely where the news is pretty solid and I am betting against the stock—that’s dumb. But in general, for momentum stocks news doesn’t really matter. 8. Chart: Either 1min or 5min charts are useful to recognize the breakouts. I always look at the Daily/4-h1-hr charts before entering a position. Because, the stocks which are trending upwards tend to go higher & vice a versa. The stocks which have had previous spikes and fails, repeat the history. They might spike on certain news but invariably fail (this is where we make bank). Also, you don’t want to enter a position on a stock that is down trending, or in an upward trend on a high-level chart (i.e., 4-hr), because you’re missing the bigger picture. So don’t focus on just the 15 min chart, look at all of them to gain a better understanding of the trend. 9. Miscellaneous: When you see price targets, never believe in those. We know where they come from...

I’m 40f married to 36m for 3 years, been together for 5- neither of us have kids. Starting trying 2 years ago (we lived in different countries the first 3 years ago) but that was interrupted by the pandemic. It turns out that our fertility issues are due to his low sperm count and motility AND naturally my age. So the doctors are optimistic and instead of going straight to IVF I’m currently doing a few months of egg retrieval so I can save some eggs for the future.
Since I can’t think quite clearly I’m relying on you all to keep it 100 with me.
Following my gut I went through his phone a couple of days ago and found messages of him talking to a woman - telling her he is crazy about her. This was in August. I confronted him, he basically admitted that it was a mistake/boredom just text flirtation based on him meeting her at a bar. They never met etc. He begged, cried did the whole you are my life thing all night and went to work this morning.
Today something told me to check out Verizon records - there was a number that kept coming up just after he leaves work and before he calls me to say he is on his way home. I sent a text message and of course this is another woman (I think as it’s a different number). Who met him 2 years ago when he was in college, he has pursued her ever since, they haven’t had sex they but have met up numerous times, made out, she had met him at bars near where he works and recently he asked her to go in holiday with him. She sent me pictures, voice notes etc so she’s telling the truth.
10 years ago I would do exactly what I know I should - file for a divorce and be done, yet I find myself here at 40 childless, and only hesitance because I don’t want to miss out on being a mother because of the time it’s going to take to wrap this shit up and move on, starting a new relationship with someone who is willing to have children right away.
Do I make do and have a child with this man knowing it will end in divorce as soon as I have my child - or take my chances and risk not becoming a mom?
Please help!!

I’m the primary earner ($220k) per year and have for many years put my career first to get to senior leadership positions. He is very unambitious (but has other positive traits) and earns $40k.
He’s also not a US national and is here on a visa because of me although we both come from the same backgrounds and parents/families the same country.

2021.10.17 05:30 MozzarellaFitzgerald 2 weeks on program: thoughts

I've been successful so far. I've lost 7 pounds in 2 weeks, which I know seems like a lot, but I suspect at this point a lot of it is water weight. I started at 270, so if I want to get to a healthy weight, I'm definitely in this for the long haul.
One of my problems used to be eating a whole bag or box of something compulsively munchable, like chips, crackers, cookies, and so on. I've made the decision that I have to stop that sort of eating completely. For me there's no such thing as small portions; it's compulsive. So I'm learning to not continuously snack while watching TV or using the computer, which is a challenge. It was also a very comforting behaviour for me. I still find myself reaching for a nonexistent bowl of snacks.
The first week on program, I was incredibly depressed. I already deal with anxiety and depression, and take meds for them, but I just had this feeling of utter hopelessness, and my main source of comfort - snacking - was no longer an option. It was a scary feeling.
Canadian Thanksgiving was last week, and you might recall I made a post about tracking my meal. It used a good chunk of weeklies, but I made good choices the rest of the week, so I consider that a win.
One thing I really like about this incarnation of WW is that the points steer you pretty strongly towards better foods. (I'm on the Green plan.) I used to have a huge issue with bread, but I now take it easy with bread because it has so many points. I've found that mixing a small amount of spaghetti with spiralized veggies works really well for me. My work lunch is an assortment of raw veggies, some sort of dip, a piece of cheese, and some fruit. I'm learning to trust the point values to make good choices.
I'm hoping to incorporate some activity, but it can be challenging because I need to work on my tight hip flexors (stretching HURTS) and arthritis in my knees and ankles. I'm not getting any younger (I'm 44) and I'm getting to the point where the damage my excess weight has done to my body is really evident. I want to improve my mobility before it's too late.
I have confidence that I can carry on with the program and make progress towards my goals.
