2021.09.28 02:23 queenkatoe Searching for a Spring 2022 subletter!
I’m studying abroad this spring so I’m looking for someone (preferably another female) to sublet my space in my apartment for the semester. It’s college park towers, and you’d be sharing a room with one other person. We’re relatively clean, not big on parties, and quiet. We also have a balcony! Our apartment is one of the better ones in CPT since they’re all owned by different landlords. Parking passes are available, utilities are included in rent, however it’s not pre-furnished. Much cheaper than T Row and UView! DM me for more details!

2021.09.28 02:23 Starburst839 Are there good ways to upkeep your brows without tweezing or waxing them?
I naturally have really, really ugly and thick brows. I have a small face and small features which makes it even more unflattering. They're also very messy and there's lots of hair in the area that for most other people is mostly hairless because that's where your arch is supposed to be. One of my brows also actually goes downward and has no arch.
Basically it looks awful, lol. I look 10x better with shaped brows and feel way better about my appearance, but I can't afford to get them done every two weeks. I've tried tweezing them myself but there's way too many hairs that grow in all at once since they're so thick and messy naturally, and it's a struggle to manage to grab and pluck out even a few so I wouldn't be able to do it in a reasonable amount of time. Plus, it's painful.
I know there's things like electric razor type of devices, but are they any good/do they actually work? Is there any other option or am I stuck with tweezing and waxing?

2021.09.28 02:23 grrbrrrr Trade in multiple devices to get promo requiring $xxx device value?
Can I trade in two phones to get a higher credit on my iPhone 13 Pro trade-in promotion? Only have phones that would get the $800 and not the $1,000 credit. Promotion states "device" (singular) must have value of $xxx.

2021.09.28 02:23 hairjourneystuff Suddenly started having hallucinations and vivid dreams? Really scared.
For the past few weeks my sleep schedule has been very bad due to depression and increasingly vivid and disturbing dreams that make me not want to fall asleep. I (22F) usually go to bed around 3 and wake up at 7 to go to work. For the past 2 weeks I started having sound hallucinations. I keep hearing things whispering in my ears and I can almost feel breathing on my neck until I look behind and notice there is actually no one behind me. I also keep hearing my parents/friends voices calling for me even when they are not around. Yesterday though while i was closing up at work, I saw a lady sitting on the couch inside the office which really freaked me out since I was alone and locking the doors to leave. So I looked again and there was no one there. I quickly locked up and left but on the drive to my house, I kept seeing things in my field of vision that would disappear when I looked again. This kept happening today again where I keep seeing figures around me and hearing sounds speaking to me and then it just suddenly disappearing. Im getting really scared and paranoid. I have always had really bad paranoia however it has been okay for the past few years until last week. I feel very uneasy all the time and just easily irritated by everything around me. Nothing has changed in my lifestyle though so Im confused as to why I feel so different suddenly and are experiencing those hallucinations. Also now every sound I hear irritates me very badly to the point where I just want to cry like even hearing somebody’s foot steps make me feel like im going crazy. Could the lack of sleep be causing this? Or are any of medications possibly playing a factor? Thank you.

2021.09.28 02:23 leetleetleetleet Didn't get a return offer and struggling with coding tests
I'm a senior in university who has been applying for new grad software engineering positions, and I've just been incredibly frustrated, worried, and filled with regret recently and I just need some advice about what I should be doing going forward.
Over the summer, I interned at a really good company that I'm sure you've heard of (not FAANG level but still up there). To be honest, I think I was lucky to even get an internship at this company. I applied there last September and didn't hear anything back until early March of this year (presumably when they just needed to fill some more positions and were running out of people to call), where the recruiter just moved me to a super day interview (no preliminary coding test). The non-technical interviews went pretty well and the engineers who interviewed me liked me. In the technical interview, I was lucky enough to be asked two Leetcode easy problems, and while I still struggled with the second question, I was able to answer the first one correctly. Overall, even though I struggled with the second question, I think they decided to give me an offer because of how well I did with the other non-technical interviews.
If I didn't get that offer, I already had an internship lined up at a lesser known, older company (one without much of a future, to be honest) with an outdated tech stack, but that offer was through some diversity internship program and I believe they only hired me to fill some diversity quota. The interview for that internship was only one behavioral interview (and was definitely easier than the interviews they give interns who were not doing the diversity internship program), and they gave me an offer even though I don't think I did that well in that interview. I wasn't very happy with this internship because of the fact that I was essentially a diversity hire, but it was my only option at the time.
However, I did not receive a return offer for the company I interned at over the summer, even though, from what I've seen online, probably 95% of all interns get a return offer. Long story short, everything I was assigned was completely new to me, and I was struggling to finish tasks in the beginning because I was trying to learn how everything worked. After a couple of weeks, I started to get the hang of things and was completing tasks faster, but by this point, my manager was already really frustrated and annoyed with me and, even though she would tell the other interns and I to ask her questions, she would get annoyed with my questions (even though she wasn't clear at times) and would be passive aggressive. When I talked with the other interns, none of us really liked her and had a lot of problems with her, but that's beside the point.
To be honest, I knew I wasn't going to get a return offer maybe halfway through the internship. I just had a feeling it wasn't going to happen because I was slower than the other interns when completing tasks, my manager would get frustrated with me, my manager started assigning me easier tasks to complete than the other interns, and my manager would be passive aggressive and rude at times in her Slack messages (I honestly hated receiving messages from her). The moment that really solidified in my mind that I was not getting a return offer was when she pulled me into a Zoom meeting to ask me if I knew what an API and an HTTP request are and made me explain to her what they are just because I was confused by how something was working.
Since not getting a return offer, I've just been incredibly frustrated and filled with regret. I just wish I could go back in time to the day the internship started and change things. I just wish things were different and that I would've received a return offer because then I would at least have some piece of mind knowing I would have a good, high-paying job ($115k+) after graduation at a well-known company.
I've been applying to a lot of places for new grad software engineering positions, and thankfully, my response rate has been pretty high. I think this is mostly because of my internship I had over the summer at this well-known company (paired with how I'm attending a top public university with a double major).
However, even though I've been getting a lot of opportunities, I'm extremely worried that I'm going to screw all of them up because I can't pass the Hackerrank and Codility tests and then be left with no more opportunities to get a job. I've already failed 3 coding tests, and I have more that I still need to do (I actually have one I need to do by tomorrow morning but I think I'm going to fail it, too). I did happen to do well on one coding test, but I haven't heard back from that company yet. Even though I did well enough on that one, I'm not very confident in my ability to do well in future ones, and I'm just very worried that I will continue failing more coding tests (or even failing a technical interview in person with someone, something which happened to me back in January). I'm also worried that I'll end up working at a non-tech company with lower pay (like Vanguard, for example), where it's perceived to be "worse" or a step down from the company I interned at (people might think there's something wrong with me if I interned at this really good company but ended up working at a "worse" company).
I guess my question at this point is does anyone have any advice about what I should do to prepare for these coding tests and actually pass them? I have a copy of Cracking the Coding Interview, and I've been doing Leetcode problems but it's just been hard going through those and managing my schoolwork and my work-study job at the same time. I feel like I'm running out of time and need to do more Leetcode practice, but I don't know if cramming Leetcode problems is necessarily going to help. I'm just kind of at a loss as to what I should do at this point, especially when time is limited and I have a number of coding tests I need to complete soon. Is there anything in particular that helped you when studying these questions, and is there anything I should be doing to prepare for these?
If you read through all of this, thank you so much for listening. I know this is kind of just a rant, but I'm just really frustrated as to what to do from here and need some advice.
